A sign from the Universe - How it all began.

In my mind, the “ideal” timeline for turning SkyforaPalette into a full- time stationery business wasn’t going to be until 2 or 3 years later. I’d have had proper work experience, my finances to start a business from scratch would have been managed and I was probably not even prepared yet to handle that big a commitment.

These were precisely the thoughts that went on in my mind back in 2023 and with that, I kept interviewing for jobs in my chosen field.

Until November 2023. It was Christmas season and I very spontaneously decided to create some holiday postcards with not a lot of expectations on whether they would sell, but thought, why not try.

To my biggest surprise, the sales exceeded more than what I expected and honestly, I couldn't believe it. I received 30+ orders and made a gross profit of around 21,000/- , all in a span of just three weeks. I was over the top and this little success developed a tiny spark of confidence in me- I realized that I might actually be able to do this! It was a BIG motivating factor.

The next few months had me thinking and rethinking of whether this would actually be a good move. Waves of self-doubt constantly kept hitting me. I spoke to some of my close friends and peers about their take on this, and all of them pushed me to give this a shot (We all need such cheerleaders in our life right?).

And I thought, What is the worst that could happen, right? I always have a job profile to go back to. And so I did. I started building my passion project. This was February 2024.

Fast forward to today, I couldn't be happier to welcome you to our official website. This past year has been nothing short of rewarding - filled with a series of new learnings, trials and errors, creative experiments and experiences I only once dreamt of.

I took the leap of faith.

I've been learning so much about how to run this business, the logistics and operational tasks that go into it, understanding the legal and financial procedures, developing my design skills - it is all a happy work in progress, and everyday, I feel more and more confident about this decision. Looking back, I am glad I took this little sign from the universe.

I guess the point that I am trying to make here is that there is never going to be an ‘ideal time’ to do anything. We will never feel fully ready to take something that we know is scary. We will never feel ready to take that leap, because there will always be an anxious voice in our heads, telling us to wait till you are more prepared.

But the magic itself is in mustering the courage and giving your inner potential a chance to shine, and learn along the way. Take that sign from the universe seriously, take that leap, and see where it takes you! ♥️
